Title: 1939 chevy shifter

was it a option to have the shifter on the floor or the column? i notice a few 39's with the shifter on the floor and some on the column. i'm putting a 4 speed in mine just want it to look OG if i can get away with it on the floor ill do it

1939 was the first year they offered the vacuum assist shifter on the column.  39's came either way, on the column or the floor.  The transmission on both cars are actually the same transmission, just the linkage is different.
