I just used sheet metal screws.  Never had a problem.  A friend used rivits, that held too.

I'm getting ready to install a Fulton 800 on my 39 chevy. I plan on hitting the freeway in this car what do you guys use as far as mounting screws for the dogbones to the door pilar. Will a sheet metal screw hold up?

Easy to make Richard. I still use mine to this day that I built from those blue prints. These inline 6's are heavy so the best investment you can make is in heavy duty casters. FYI
