some pictures of my 48 today been working on it, took a week off from work
with its new 72 montel carlo frame





you can't see the frame
on this one ,we cut everything out so it can lay on the ground

yes
we cut all the old body support & cut a little part of the frame cause the door was hiting it when we open the doors
on this picture we cut the middle part out i'm going to put the montel section in here

i got 327 motor ready for it grin

Looks really good and thanks for the images.  I was going to go the same route and use a '70 Monte Carlo but the wheelbase was way too long and the width of the front end was too wide.  Make sure your front wheels don't pop out of the fender...will look kinda funny.  I used the same rear end as yours, '72 Monte/Chevelle on my '47 Fleetline:
